Simona Halep breezes past Zarina Dyias to reach her first Wimbledon quarterfinal

Simona Halep dismissed Zarina Diyas 6-3, 6-0 in a match that lasted only 57 minutes on Tuesday. Simona Halep is currently the highest ranked seed left in the tournament.

Halep has never been beyond the second round in her three visits to the All England Club, but the 22-year-old is in excellent form this year, reaching the quarterfinals.

She will play German 19th seed Sabine Lisicki, last year’s beaten Wimbledon finalist, or Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova for a place in the semifinals.

It should also be mentioned that Maria Sharapova, the winner of Roland Garros after a tough final against Simona, has left the competition after being defeated by Angelique Kerber also on Tuesday, writes BBC.
