For those willing to attend a four-hour selection of the most amusing short films of the past couple of years from all over the world, The Short Comedy Weekend will start on January 26, at Cinema Scala in Bucharest. The event offers a selection of the most amusing shorts of the past couple of years from all over the world, most of them having won awards at Palm Springs ShortFest, Chicago International Film Festival or LA ShortFest.
The lineup contains “Dik” (directed by Christopher Stollery, Australia, 2011), a caustic short film that got the People’s Choice Award at Palm Springs ShortFest, the best comedy award at Rhode Island International Film Festival and two awards at Aspen ShortFest, one of the major short film festivals in the US. Another movie selected for the event is “After the Credits” (directed by Josh Lawson, Australia, 2010), which shatters the myth of endless love. The director Tomas Johannesson in his short “In the Garage” (Iceland, 2011) presents Oli and Keli, two brothers with some odd hobbies and a makeshift carwash located in a garage.
The entire program of the two evenings can be seen on the event official website, here. Tickets can be purchased in advance from MyTicket or Eventim, for RON 20/single night, or RON 35 for the weekend.
