Several Tarom flights cancelled as employees stage protest without warning

Several Tarom flights scheduled on Monday, most of them on internal routes, were cancelled due to a spontaneous protest organised by flight-crew teams, according to Mediafax.

Cancelled flights:
Bucharest to Cluj (7.30 am), Satu Mare (7.55), Baia Mare (7.55) and Oradea (8.00).
To Bucharest from  Târgu Mureş (7.00), Sofia (7.05), Iaşi (7.10), Chişinău (7.15), Baia Mare (11.05) şand Oradea (11.10).

According to Tarom representatives, the rest of the flights are going to go on as scheduled.

“Tarom flights were cancelled due to pilots absence”, according to Valentin Iordache, company spokesperson.

The protest coincides with the Air France pilot strike which begins on Monday and will lead to nearly half of Air France flights to be cancelled.
