Romania’s Sanador Hospital, the private healthcare services provider, opened on Tuesday a new cardiac surgery unit at its Bucharest-based hospital following a EUR 1 million investment.
The unit will handle complex surgery procedures and will be headed by hear surgeon Horatiu Moldovan, who is an associate professor that holds a PhD in Medical Science. He will coordinate a team of four physicians that are widely recognized in Romania and abroad.
“Romania is a country with one of the highest cardiovascular risks in Europe, this being one of the main risk cause of death in Romania,” said Doris Andronescu, a physician and general manager Sanador. She says that around 7 million suffer from hear related disease in Romania.
The new unit has four operating rooms and patients are accommodated in hospital reserves with on or two beds.
Sanador inaugurated in 2011 the biggest private in Romania following a EUR 40 million, with a capacity of 402 beds. It provides services in all medical specialties. Aside from the hospital, the company has clinics and a medical analysis laboratory.
