Safety Broker mediates EUR 20 mln gross premiums in Q1

Safety Broker brokered in the first quarter of this year gross premiums worth RON 91.3 million (EUR 20.6 million), 12 percent more compared to the same period last year, the insurance brokerage company said on Tuesday.

“Out of the total underwritings in the first quarter of 2015, the RCA policies have generated revenues of RON 69.4 million (EUR 15.7 million), compared to RON 51.6 million (EUR 11.6 million) in Q1 2014, while CASCO car insurance contributed with RON 12.6 million (approximately EUR 3 million). Over the same period of time, fire and other natural disasters insurance brought nearly RON 4.4 million (EUR 1 million) brokered contracts, a 4.51 percent compared to the first quarter of 2014,” says the company in a press release quoted by Mediafax.

Safety Broker increased its social capital from RON 25,000 (EUR 5,646) to RON 300,000 (EUR 67,752) to comply with the new legislation which requires insurance and / or reinsurance brokers to hold subscribed and paid social capital of at least RON 150,000 (EUR 33,876), compared to RON 25,000 (EUR 5,646) according to the old rules.

Safety Broker began its activity in 2005 and is one of the main players on the specialized market, being controlled by Viorel Vasile.
