The worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million representatives of the professional and business elite and local community leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all professions and help building goodwill and peace in the world presents on February 21 Bucharest Rotary Prom, which will take place at J.W.Marriot Bucharest.

Last year’s prom was a success, while the members and the contributors of the Rotary Club donated EUR 30.000 for the training of Romanian doctors from Grigore Alexandrescu’s Hospital, more precisely those doctors from the Excellence Center of Surgery and Neurosurgery. There, four Romanian doctors have benefited from training in Tel Aviv, Israel, for developing their skills to operate children hearts, especially those children with rare malformations.

Due to Rotary’s Bucharest Club and the implication of the members nationwide, the program has now developed for 11 doctors, and among benefits are weekly visits from international teams of doctors at Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital, especially from Wolfson Hospital, the place where the Romanian team has received the training in Tel Aviv.

For this project, two others international foundations have been involved, Save a Child’s Heart and Gift of Life, and will contribute for a period of five years with USD 900.000. Although the sum is impressive, they need an extra USD 90.000 for transportation and accommodation for both doctors and children that will be operated in Tel Aviv, during these five years of the project.

More information about the Rotary’s Prom can be found on their official website.
