Romtelecom and Cosmote will be exclusive telecom service providers for Bancpost for the next two years

Romtelecom and Cosmote are the exclusive providers of telecom services for Bancpost. Over the next two years, Romtelecom, via the Romtelecom Business Solutions division, will provide fiber optic-based VPN MPLS data and integrated IP telephony services, while Cosmote will provide mobile and data services to Bancpost.

The current integrated telecom services contract is a continuation of the long term and solid partnership between the companies.

Established in July 1991, Bancpost has more than 1 million clients, and covers retail, corporate or institutional areas via a territorial network of 233 branches, 8 regional centers and 8 business centers.

Following a tender started earlier this year, Romtelecom became the only provider of the bank, by adding, to the currently provided services, a unified solution comprising the following services: electronic communications (a VPN network with more than 800 points of presence, with guaranteed speeds of over 10Mbps), IP telephony (an IPTEL solution integrated with the SIP Trunk service, for more than 4,000 IP phones with non-geographical numbers).

Cosmote Romania will be in charge with providing mobile telephony and internet data on mobile phones.

The current contract comes as an enhancement of the partnership between Romtelecom and Bancpost, started in 2006, when the former began to provide Managed Office Automation services (PC maintenance for Laptops and Desktops) and Fax Server (migration from the classic TDM fax server lines to IP fax server solution).

In 2013, Romtelecom started to deliver Managed Core equipment to Bancpost consisting in servers, storage, routers and switches, as well as maintenance for all the network infrastructure of Bancpost including the Core bank equipment.

The current portfolio of services includes state of the art communications and high-end hardware equipment, which reflect Romtelecom’s unique position on the Romanian market through the Gold partnership and certificates received from Cisco.
