Romania’s Road authority to pay EUR 26 mln this year to finish Transylvania highway

Romania’s roads authority CNADNR seeks a constructor to finish a 52- kilometer section of the Transylvania Highway, a section which was 97 percent completed by U.S. builder Bechtel, and estimates to pay up to RON 114.4 million (EUR25.9 million), VAT included.

The project to finalize section 2B Campia Turzii – Gilau belonging to the highway connecting Brasov-Targu Mures-Cluj-Oradea and Bors includes design activities, legal work and and repairing faults made in the previous construction period.

The contract is valued at RON 76.9 million, with another RON 15.3 million added for similar works and activities. The contract financed from the public budget will last for 42 months.

The contract will be won through a public auction depending on the lowest price offered and interested parties can submit offers until January 9.
