Romania’s industry sales maintain upward trend in July

Romanian industrial sales rose in July from a month earlier, boosted by higher demand in the manufacturing sector, the country’s statistics institute INS said Monday.

Industry turnover, on the external and internal market, increased in nominal terms 2.7 percent month on month and 4.4 percent year on year. After seven months, industry sales increased 9.9 percent, mainly on manufacturing.

The biggest increases were recorded in energy (+10.6 percent), durable goods (+7.8 percent), intermediary goods (+5.0 percent), capital goods (+4.0 percent) and consumer goods (+1.5 percent).

Romanian industrial new orders fell 4.9 percent on the month in July, after a 6.6 percent increase in the first half, INS data also showed on Monday.
