The Company of Motorways and National Roads (CNADNR) announced it has awarded the association Aktor – Euro Construct Trading ’98  a contract of RON 129.18 million (about EUR 29.2 million), without VAT, to complete the first 3.3 km section of the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway and the nodes across the Bucharest belt and at Moara Vlasiei.

The contract duration is 70 months, of which four months are allotted for the design, 18 months for execution and 48 months for work warranty.

The procurement procedure, started on May 19, is currently waiting for possible proceedings against the results.

A stretch of 6.5 km of road between Petricani and the Bucharest belt is still not open for use. CNADNR terminated the contract with Italian company Pizzarotti, who built 3.2 km of the total 6.5 km, leaving another 3.3 km stretch of motorway to be finished.

The Bucharest-Ploiesti highway, stretching 56 km between the two cities, was opened to traffic three years ago.
