Passenger car registrations dropped by 13.4 percent last month in Romania against a fall of 4.8 percent in the EU, says the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Car registrations in Romania lost 15 percent year-on-year to 6,782 units in October. EU registrations fell by 4.8 percent to 959,412 cars.
In October, the German market grew by 0.5 percent, while the UK expanded by 12.1 percent. France, Italy and Spain fell by 7.8 percent, 12.4 percent and 21.7 percent. Romania registered the seventh drop in the EU.
In the first ten months, the Romanian market of new passenger cars shrank by 12.2 percent to 63,709 units. The EU market lost 7.3 percent to 10.3 million cars.
The UK market gained 5 percent by October. The German market shrank by 1.6 percent. Spain, France and Italy lost 11.9 percent, 13.3 percent and 19.7 percent.
Dacia registrations in the EU and EFTA (Cyprus and Malta) fell last month by 7.1 percent to 21.478 units. It lost 3.2 percent to 200,677 cars in the first ten months.
