Romania’s annual inflation drops to 1.83 pct this November on dropping food prices

The consumer prices index was 99.99 percent this November compared to the previous month and 101.83 y-o-y, according to data released today by the National Institute of Statistics.

Food products were 0.2 percent cheaper in November compared to the previous month while the price of non-food products and services were up by 0.1 percent each, according to the same source. The highest price drop for food products was minus 4 percent for fruit and canned fruit. Variations in the non-food and services categories were below one percentage point.

Romania’s central bank has revised last month its annual inflation target for 2013 from an initial 3.1 percent to 1.8 percent and for 2014 from 3.1 percent to 3 percent.
