Romanian consumers don’t feel the effects of their economy growing, according to a GFK report. Expectations regarding the economy, income and intent to buy continue to have negative values.

“Romania’a economy posted a strong growth for the last 18 months. It seems this ecnomic leap hasn’t really had an impact so far on Romanian consumers”, according to a report from the research company.

Expectations regarding the economy where at -10.4 points in June which is still a negative value, but up from -17.2 points in March and -16.1 points year on year.

The income indicator is marginally under the 0 average with -0.7 points, up 7.5 points compared to March when it was -8.2 points.

Romanians’ shopping intent is at -14 percent, the same level it achieved in March.

According to GfK, EU’s economy is continuing its recovery but the crisis in Irak and the one in Ukraine may destabilize the union’s progress.
