Eggs are among the most important foodstuffs Romanians consume, 93 percent of people in urban areas eating eggs regularly, according to a study conducted by iSense Solutions. Moreover, 83 percent of them consume eggs at least 2-3 times a week.
Regardless of the cooking method, Romanians prefer to consume eggs for breakfast, but they are having them also for lunch and dinner, job or school snack or as a snack between meals.
When buying eggs, most Romanians (94 percent) want them to be fresh, but other criteria that taken into account are the quality-price ratio (87 percent), natural origin (eggs from grass-fed chickens– 85 percent) and the taste as similar to that of countryside eggs (84 percent).
According to the study, the most appreciated egg brand among Bucharesters is Familia Toneli, almost half of them (48 percent) having consumed these eggs over the past 12 months.
The study was conducted online by iSense Solutions on a sample of 1,000 respondents, the data being representative for the urban environment.
