Between September 25-28, the Bok & Bibliotek Book Fair at Goteborg, Sweden,  will present Romanian writers such as Carmen Firan, Sorin Gherguţ, Mihaela Miroiu, Adrian Sângeorzan, Daniela Zeca and literature critic Daniel Cristea-Enache.

According to the Romanian Cultural Institute Stockholm, this year Romania will prepare 21 events, marking subjects like 25 years since the communism ended, Romanian language, translation workshops and authors’ presentations. The Romanian prize Marin Sorescu will be given by ICR Stockholm during this event to a Swedish writer, who will be awarded and named during the fair.

Last year, Romania was the guest country invited at the Bok & Bibliotek Book Fair, where we were represented by a record number of translations into Swedish, namely eleven titles from various genres: fiction, poetry and philosophy and Canonical writers (Emil Cioran, Marin Sorescu) established authors (Mircea Cartarescu), as well as debutants (Catalin Dorian Florescu). Among the translated authors are also writers who live in Romania (Gabriela Adamesteanu) and exiled authors (Norman Manea, Gabriela Melinescu), and their work cover a wide array of topics, ranging from history (Varujan Vosganian) to femininity and motherhood (Ioana Nicolaie).
