Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea qualifies directly into the second round of Miami tournament

Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea, Seed No. 27 at The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Miami, equipped with total prizes worth USD 5,185,625, will go directly to the second round of the main board. She will meet the winner of the match between French Pauline Parmentier and another player to come from qualifications.

Four other Romanian players are on the main board of the competition: Irina Begu (who will play in the first round against Marina Erakovic from New Zealand), Simona Halep (who will play against Sabine Lisicki), Alexandra Dulgheru (to meet Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues) and Monica Niculescu (to meet American Jamie Hampton).

Alexandra Cadantu was defeated on Monday in the first round of the qualifications by Swiss Stefanie Voegele, 6-3, 6-3.
