The Romanian lot of informatics students at has taken four medals at the Central European Olympiad for Informatics (CEOI), two gold medals, one silver medal and another bronze one at the competition that ended today in Jena, Germany.
The medals were obtained by Andrei Heidelbacher, 12th grade student at C.D.Loga High School of Timisoara, who received the same gold medal at last year’s competition, gold-medalist Rares-Darius Buhai, 11th grade student at Liviu Rebreanu High School of Bistrita, Alexandru Velea, 11th grade student at Tiberiu Popoviciu Informatics High School of Cluj Napoca, who will return with the silver medal and Radu Szasz, 11th grade student at C. Brediceanu High School of Lugoj, who received the bronze medal.
This year, the competition was formed of 38 participants from 10 countries. The CEOI competition was firstly made in Romania, in 1994, in Cluj-Napoca, being Romania’s initiative for this type of competition.
