Online booking portal for accommodation HotelGuru.ro, part of Hungarian Szallas group present in the Eastern European countries, reported a 92 percent increase in bookings in the Praid area. The number of bookings has increased exponentially with the opening of the saltwater lido in Praid – the largest saltwater lido in Romania. Increases were also registered at Sovata and Baile Tusnad, and slight decreases were seen at Baile Herculane and Baile Felix.

Praid salina became a popular place also for Hungarians, not only for Romanians.

The most popular spa resort stays Sovata, followed by Praid, Baile Herculane, Baile Tusnad and Baile Felix. In Sovata, in the first months of 2015, the number of Romanian tourists’ bookings has slightly decreased, but has increased the number of bookings made by Hungarians.

Accommodation in Baile Tusnad reaches RON 160 (EUR 36) / night per person for a 4-star hotel with half board, therapeutic treatments, outdoor and indoor swimming pool or sauna.

Accommodation in Sovata starts from RON 35 (EUR 8) / night per person and reach RON 240 (EUR 53) / night at four-star hotels. The accommodation in Baile Herculane and Baile Felix seldom exceeds RON 130 (EUR 29) / night per person for 3 and 4-star hotels.

The saltwater lido in Praid is currently the largest in Romania, with an area of 5,200 square meters. The investment in the lido amounted to EUR 1.5 million.
