The Radio Hall will present an imaginary musical journey to A Midsummer Night’s Dream courtesy of Felix Mendelssohn, who composed an overture to a suite which he concluded a few years before his death. On Friday, June 13, the music lovers will hear Concerto in E Minor for Violin and Orchestra Op. 64 and A Midsummer Night’s Dream Op. 61 interpreted by violinist Gabriel Croitoru (in picture).
Mendelssohn’s composition was inspired by the famous Shakespearian play and has become known especially due to the Bridal March. The work has become a popular wedding song after being performed, in 1858, in the occasion of the wedding between Princess Vicky (Queen Victoria’s daughter) and Prince Friedrich of Prussia.
The event takes place on Friday, June 13, from 19.00. Tickets are available on www.bilete.ro, in the offices of the Romanian Postal Company, at the Inmedio shops labeled Bilete.ro, in the Germanos retail chain and at the Radio Hall box office.
