The national telecom watchdog (ANCOM) updated the Veritel.ro application, that helps consumers compare telecom offers, with the profiles of the average, occasional and intensive user of mobile telephony and internet based on the most recent data collected from operators in 2013.

”These pre-established profiles, based on statistics of the consumption of electronic services in Romania in the first quarter of 2013, were introduced by Veritel.ro to facilitate the configuration of the searched offer. In order to find out more precisely what is the telecom offer most suitable to their communication needs, Veritel.ro users can configure themselves the average monthly volume, starting- or not- from these pre-defined profiles,” said Eduard Lovin, executive director for regulation at ANCOM.

An occasional user of mobile telephony and internet consumes monthly 33Mb internet traffic, sends 20 national SMS (19 on-net and 1 off-net) and talks on average 67 minutes on-net to mobile networks and 10 minutes off- net (8 to mobile and 2 to fixed networks).
