Romanian hackers sentenced to jail in the USA

Two Romanian hackers were sentenced in the United States to 15 and 7 years in prison after being found guilty of hacking into the card e-payment systems of 250 companies in the USA between 2009 and 2011.

The two hackers, Tiberiu Oprea, 29, sentenced to 15 years in jail, and Iulian Dolan, 28, sentenced to 7 years in jail, are part of a larger criminal network which caused total damages of USD 17.5 million.

Other two Romanians were sentenced in the same file, after being charged with breaking into the e-payment systems of 250 Subway restaurants located in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, and 50 e-payment systems that belonged to other companies.
