The first Romanian competitiveness pole in the furniture industry attracted on Tuesday financing worth EUR 6.5 million. Concentrated in the North-West Region of Romania, “Cluster Mobilier Transilvan” received the funds for an integrated package of projects submitted in 2012, based on a strategy for the next 10 years.
A management team will handle investments in creating and updating production capacities.
The innovative aspect of the process is represented by two research projects, developed in tandem with Cluj-Napoca’s academia, and meant to provide new products and services for the national and international business environment. The end-results will be introduced in the manufacturing scheme.
There is no precedent in Romania for implementing strategic projects at this level, with a concrete adage of value. “Cluster Mobilier Transilvan” includes 10 projects financed through POSCCE, Operation 13 – “Development of support structures for national and international business”.
