Corina Cretu, European commissioner for regional policy, will be making an official visit to Bucharest between 3-4 March 2016, according to a press release from her office. During the visit she will have a series of meetings with President Klaus Iohannis and vice-prime-minister Vasile Dincu.
“I am in Romania to discuss with the national authorities the finalization of the 2007-2013 financing framework and to support the beginning, as fast as possible, of the new 2014-2020 financing period,” said Cretu.
During her visit, she will be launching the “Less developed regions” project, addressed firstly to the North-East and North-West regions. The aim of the project is “to maximize the impact of European investments in these regions,” further stated Cretu.
The commissioner will also be visiting the ENDOCED laboratory of the “C.I. Parhon” National Endocrinology Institute, a project financed with EUR 6.9 million through regional development European funds.
