The minimum gross wage will be increased starting next year to RON 1,200 (approximately EUR 270) announced PM Victor Ponta on Thursday, according to Mediafax. The minimum gross wage is currently RON 975 (approximately EUR 220) and it will be increased to RON 1,050  starting this July.

“I think setting an ever higher limit of the minimum income paid for work, involving further taxes, is a measure that can help us concretely change things,” said the PM during a debate on the national strategy to fight poverty and promote social inclusion organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
