This year, Romania must pay more than EUR 1.172 billion to the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), up 0.72 percent on what it paid in 2013, according to data from the Romanian Government published by Agerpres newswire.

To the IMF, Romania must pay this year approximately EUR 1 billion.

To the EU, it must pay EUR 150.1 million.

Last but not least, the sum Romania owes to IBRD this year is EUR 20.5 million.

In 2009, Romania signed a stand-by loan agreement for 24 months which totaled EUR 12.95 billion, as part of a support package of EUR 19.95 billion granted by the IMF, the EU and the World Bank.

In 2015, Romania must return the largest amount of money, approximately EUR 1.8 billion.

Romania has already been released seven of the eight stipulated installments, which totalled approximately EUR 11.9 billion. The eighth installment has not been used.
