Romania and France sign joint statement in film production

Daniel Barbu (in picture), the Culture Minister, and Mihai Kogalniceanu, the director of the National Centre of Cinematography (CNC) participated in the signing ceremony of a join statement between Le Centre National du Cinema et de l’Image Animee (National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image, France) and CNC.

The document was signed by the President of Le Centre National du Cinema et de l’Image Animee, Frederique Bredin, and the director of the CNC, Mihai Kogalniceanu.

This joint statement also refers to the co-production agreement between Romania and France signed in Cannes on May 18, 2009, and to the other existing conventions between the two states. The event took place within the framework of the festival Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest on October 29.

According to the joint statement, the two centers intend to cooperate in film production, film distribution, expertise and in training the personnel to combat piracy.
