French furniture and decorations retailer Roche Bobois opened this Tuesday its first local store located in downtown Bucharest. The store covers some 600 sqm.
“The local customers’ growing demand for high-end furniture was the reason we decided to launch a brand as Roche Bobois in Romania,” said Serban Cismarescu, the managing director of Roche Bobois Romania.
The store features two collections – contemporary (Les Contemporains) and classic (Nouveaux Classiques) – and include pieces designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel and Missoni.
Roche Bobois posted a turnover of over EUR 400 million in 2014. The retailer is present in over 50 countries and operates a network of over 250 stores, 15 of which were opened last year in cities like Mumbai, Lima, Portland, Shanghai, Manila and Frankfurt. This year the company plans to open another 15 outlets in locations such as Guatemala City, Cape Town, Montreal, Miami, Pasadena, Chongqing and Nuremberg.
Roche Bobois was founded in 1960 by Philippe and François Roche and Jean-Claude and Patrick Chouchan.
The local showroom is located at 28C, G-ral Constantin Budisteanu Street.
