April 13, Mamaia resort, the Sand Marathon
The only marathon on sand in Europe will take place on April 13 in Mamaia resort, courtesy of a partnership between Constanta County Department of Sport and Youth and Dobrogea-Litoral Water Basin Administration.
At this event, both amateur and professional athletes are welcomed in the Sand Marathon (Romanian called Maratonul Nisipului) and can select their category from the individual marathon – on a distance of 42.1 km, the individual half-marathon – 21 km, the relay marathon – 4×10.55 km, the individual race on a distance of 10 km, or the popular race on a distance of 5 km, which will be held on April 12. May 17-18, Petrom Bucharest International Half Marathon
Over 10,000 runners from more than 50 countries are expected to be part of the third edition of Bucharest International Half Marathon. The competition has several races, such as Half Marathon, Individual 10km, relay race 4x5km, popular race 2.9 km, as well as wheelchairs and hand-bikes as well as kids’ race. June 21, Poiana Brasov, DHL Relay Carpathians Marathon
DHL Express Romania supports for the fifth year the Relay Carpathians Marathon, where over 1,000 runners are expected to attend. This year, the money are going to Salvati Copiii NGO for the project “Education and information against narcotics consumption”. The track will be Predeal – Pârâul Rece – Râșnov – Poiana Brașov. The information is available at www.maratondhl.ro until June 6 and the taxes are RON 115 for company team members and RON 90 for individual subscriptions.
