Romanian telecom provider RCS&RDS will take over all the radio licenses media group Central European Media Enterprises (CME) holds in Romania, namely Pro FM, Info Pro, Pro Clasic, Music FM and Dance FM, sources from the company told local news agency Mediafax.
The two comapnies have reached an agreement for the sale which has to be submitted to the National Audiovisual Council for its approval.
The takeover should be made by transferring the licenses from Pro TV S. to RCS&RDS and through making the Romanian telecom provider shareholder of Campus Radio SRL., with 100 percent of shares.
CME announced its intention to sell its radio portfolio this spring and carried on negotiations with several media companies, among which Ringier and Kanal D. Pro FM was founded over 20 years ago by Adrian Sarbu and has recently made the switch from a musical station, to a general radio station. Among its most famous stars is Andrei Gheorghe, which recently rejoined Pro FM.
