The Bucharest Public Transport Authority (RATB) has a new interim general director in the person of Vincentiu Daniel Antonescu. He will retain his position until a new contest to fill the general director seat will be organised, according to RATB.

“During the last board meeting on June 12, Daniel Florentin Doman’s resignation was admitted along with the cesation of his work contract. In the same meeting we’ve designated Vincentiu Daniel Antonescu as general director”, according to RATB.

Daniel Florentin Doman was designated RATB general director on January 23, winning the contest held after Adrian Campurean resigned.

On Monday, June 16, the Bucharest Court released Viorel Popescu, the former general manager of RATB between November 2011 and October 2012, from preemptive arrest, romaniatv.net reports.  According to the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), November 10, 2011 and October, 9, 2012, Popescu failed to live up to his attributions as manager of RATB and caused damages worth EUR 820,000.
