Romanian director Radu Jude and his short film “It Can Pass Through the Wall/Trece si Prin Perete” was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs) section of the Cannes International Film Festival, which will take place between May 14 – 25, says official press release.

With this short film, director Radu Jude makes a comeback to Cannes after his “Shadow of a Cloud” had its world premiere last year at the same section.

The script of “It Can Pass Through the Wall” is signed by Radu Jude, and the cast includes Sofia Nicolaescu — known from Jude’s multi-awarded feature “Everybody In Our Family”, Ion Arcudeanu, Marcel Horobet, Gabriel Spahiu and Alecu Jude.

“It Can Pass Through the Wall” is a free adaptation of A.P. Chekhov’s “In the Shed”, being an  independent co-production, while the producers are Radu Jude and Ada Solomon.

Agerpres newswire writes that Radu Jude is currently working on his third feature film, “Aferim/Well Done”, that will enter production in mid-June. The Romanian director also has another project underway — “Scarred Hearts/Inimi Cicatrizate”, an adaptation of Max Blecher.
