Famous “Piano Concerto no 2 in C minor Op 18” for piano and orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninoff and the “Polovtsian Dances” by Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin will be performed by the National Radio Orchestra on a concert under the wand of the conductor Jin Wang.
The music lovers will remember Rachmaninoff’s opera from the main theme of the song “All by Myself” in Celine Dion’s interpretation, while the “Polovtsian Dances” were made famous through Julio Iglesias’s song “Quiereme” of his album “Emociones.”
The soloist of the night will be the Romanian pianist Mihai Ungureanu (in picture), who will perform Concerto no 2 for piano and orchestra together with the National Radio Orchestra. The event will also enjoy the participation of the Radio Academic Chorus, prepared by conductor Dan Mihai Goia.
While Rachmaninoff made his legacy as the last great romantic of classical music, Borodin promoted his “Prince Igor” opera as choreographic interpretation during the stage of Ballets Russes in Paris in 1909.
The event takes place Friday, February 7, from 19.00. Tickets are available on www.bilete.ro, in the offices of the Romanian Postal Company, at the Inmedio shops labeled Bilete.ro, in the Germanos retail chain and at the Radio Hall box office.
