Mihaela Mitroi will be the new tax and legal services leader of PwC Romania, starting this July, the company has announced. She is replacing Peter de Ruiter, who will remain tax partner with the Romanian firm. Mitroi will also coordinate the tax and legal activities of PwC in South-Eastern Europe, including Moldova, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Bosnia.
She joined PwC Romania in 1997 and in July 2004 became partner. Mitroi is experienced in both Romanian and international taxation, being involved in assignments such as restructuring, privatisation, tax compliance and tax optimisation schemes. She was also involved in consultations with the Ministry of Finance in order to improve the tax legislation. Mitroi also has background in providing advisory to multinational corporations and local companies, advising on tax matters, due diligence assignments, advising on privatisation issues as well as advising individuals (Romanian nationals or expatriates) on personal tax matters.
She is a member of CECCAR (Romanian Institute of Accountants), of the International Fiscal Association and board member of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants.
