Ponta: Final meeting with the IMF on Thursday, I hope to cut back employment taxes

Prime-minister Victor Ponta announced that he will have a final meeting with the IMF, European Commission and World Bank joint delegation on Thursday, adding that he hopes to obtain a fiscal relaxation in a “reasonable amount of time”.

“We are nearing the end of discussions with our international partners. Tomorrow we will have a final meeting where we can draw some conclusions. We need to make sure the main objective, a fiscal relation in the field of employment taxes, will be achieved in a reasonable period of time. I am aware the delegation will meet with the opposition today. I hope they didn’t change their mind, especially the former liberals, and they will support the Government in our efforts regarding fsical relaxation”, according to the PM.

The PDL and PNL leaders, Vasile Blaga and Klaus Iohannis, and other representatives of the two parties will meet on Wednesday with members of the IMF delegation to discuss cutting back CAS, according tot PDL deputy, Gheorghe Ialomitianu.
