How do you consider to be the Romanian public affairs market you are attacking?

Andreea Plesa: We believe that the Public Affairs industry has developed to a professional level similar to that in the established European democracies. Public Affairs means a business’ diplomacy, it means the representation of its interests in front of decision-makers and influencers, in an open, transparent and arguments-based manner. In our view, Public Affairs should be a board-level function of every company that wants to do good business. And “good” to us means a lot of things: long-term, profitable, fair, successful, trusted, admired, respected. And last, but not least, a good social citizen.

How did you choose the name? Why an English one? Is it a specific tray of this niche?

Andreea Plesa:Choosing the name was easy, as it reflects the vision of the founding members, which is to create “profit for society”. We want everyone to benefit from dealing with us – clients, decision-makers, media and people, by working towards finding long-term, sustainable solutions, not just solving one problem or another. The company name, #goodaffairs, has been chosen so that it fits the vision and values the organization promotes: integrity, know-how, and creativity.

The new agency’s identity has been designed to reflect this positioning, and is based on a logo drawn like a stylized hashtag, the symbol of dialogue, of integration, of the social and participatory behavior that today defines the public sphere. Each of the four sides of this hashtag has its own color, signifying the four broad categories of public that contribute to social development: the business community, the institutional environment, the media, and the public at large.

Do you believe that the future of the Romanian PR is the strong, niche agencies?

Eliza Rogalski: I believe that the future of established PR agencies is to develop integrated communication services, while the future of startups is rather in servicing niche clients.

What do you offer differently than your competition?

Andreea Plesa: We offer a local agency, with strong local expertise, with a 25-years proven successful track record in this field, well-known consultants and experts, and strong knowledge about several key industries: pharma, energy, industry, telecom, banking & financial services, FMCG.

What are you main goals for the next 2 years?

Andreea Plesa:We provide research and strategic solutions tailored to the public agenda, adapted to the operating mode of institutions and interest groups. We aim to become a strong distinct voice in the Public Affairs industry in Romania, a leading team of experts whose skills and creativity are a valuable resource for the clients.

Are you also targeting the CEE region or just the Romanian market?

Andreea Plesa: We want to consolidate our position on the Romanian market. We believe Romania’s importance in the region will increase in the coming years, from both a political and economically perspective, thus we want to be the discipline’s premier hub of specialists, ideas, and expertise in Romania.

What services are you offering?

Andreea Plesa: We offer the full range of traditional services a Public Affairs firm delivers, at which we add our own experience and skills. Thus, we offer public agenda monitoring, media relations, effective stakeholder engagement, strategic coalition building, digital and social advocacy, opinion research, issue and crisis management. #goodaffairs consultants specialize in shaping the public agenda by the intelligent use of insights, information, technologies, and messages that set the public sphere into motion towards a decision that is accepted by all the parties involved.

What are you target clients and what is your new business strategy?

Andreea Plesa: We want to find and retain the clients who have both the force and vision to implement creative and sustainable solutions to the issues they face in Romania. Our role is to interconnect the agendas of businesses, policymakers, of the media, and finally that of the broader society to find a solution for the benefit of all parties.
