Google has received 932 requests from Romania to delete from its searches 4,611 links, based on the “right to be forgotten,” in line with the recent decision of the European Court of Justice, according to Mediafax newswire, which quotes Google Romania officials.

The requests were made between May 29- June 30, according to representatives of Google Romania.

In Europe, Google received 70,000 requests for deleting from its searches a number of 267,550 links in just a month from the launch of a website which was especially created to this end. Most requests were received from France, according to AFP. French citizens sent 14,116 requests, Germans sent 12,700 requests, Great Britain citizens sent 8,535, Spanish citizens sent 6,176 requests and Italians sent 5,946.

Google has the obligation to remove irrelevant or excessive personal information from search engine results, according to the ruling of the European Court of Justice.
