Orlando Nicoara resigns from Mediafax Group?

Orlando Nicoara, head of Mediafax Group which runs the publications Ziarul Financiar, Mediafax newswire, gandul.info and prosport.ro, has resigned from Mediafax Group, effective starting January 1, 2015, writes journalist Catalin Tolontan on his blog in the article called Orlando Nicoara’s resignation on Adrian Sirbu’s table.

Quoting inside sources, Tolontan writes that the specific problems the media is faced with and the current issues of Mediafax, which has its accounts blocked as a result of state debts, a decision it is currently contesting in court, have triggered a discussion between Nicoara and Sirbu which ended in the former’s resignation.

“Since he no longer owns Pro TV, Sirbu is getting involved in the daily business problems of Mediafax Group and Nicoara is not the guy to put up with Sirbu’s often short temper,” said the inside source.

Nicoara, 39, was appointed general manager of Mediafax Group in March 2011.

Nicoara told his close circle he would focus on his online businesses after leaving Mediafax Group while he refrained to comment for the media.
