Telecom operator Orange Romania launched its summer offer, introducing 4G into all its postpay deals, at no additional costs, as well as special discounts for 4G compatible smartphones, starting July 10.

“By including 4G internet in all the postpay offers and with the smartphone range at special prices, Orange customers have access easier than ever to the advantages brought by the 4G digital revolution,” said Julien Ducarroz (in picture), chief commercial officer at Orange Romania.

Orange customers who activate or renew an Orange postpay offer benefit from average download speeds of 30 Mbps per second and upload speeds of 15 Mbps.

For EUR 2 per month, Orange customers can activate an option which will allow them to surf the internet at average download speeds of 60- 80 Mbps, said Orange Romania officials.

Over the past three months the number of 4G terminals active in the Orange network has increased by 45 percent up to 290,000 terminals.

Orange has in its portfolio 31 4G compatible smartphone models. One third of the smartphones sold in June are 4G compatible.

The operator also announced that it expanded its Best Deal concept to encompass 4G phones.

Orange Romania announced at the end of March that it would be expanding its 4G telecom network in 90 cities, representing over 45 percent in the country population.
