Online sales continue to be one of the most secure business environments for Romanian companies, according to the latest survey conducted by PayU Romania on the attempts to defraud the online transactions processed at national level.
According to a PayU press release, in 2014 only 0.1 percent of all the online orders processed nationwide were fraud attempts, percentage confirming the downward trend of this phenomenon in recent years. The total amount of attempts detected by PayU specialized team last year amounted to EUR 550,000.
The trend was recently confirmed by the statistics provided by the Eurobarometer showing that only 36 percent of Romanians are worried about the security of online payments, while 70 percent of respondents are positive that they can protect themselves online, a percentage similar to the European average of 74 percent.
PayU Romania provides financial services in an online payment platform, integrating 15 methods of payment for some of the largest retailers in Romania (Altex, Arsis, Carrefour Online, Domo, elefant.ro, eMag, F64, Fashion Days, Flanco, ID Sarrieri, PC Garage or Miniprix) but also for utilities, telephone, transport and tourism companies.
