Number of building permits up 16.5 percent in first seven months

Some 26,500 building permits for residential projects have been issued in Romania in the first seven months o 2012, up 16.5 percent y-o-y, according to data released today by the National Institute of Statistics. However, last month their number has dropped by 1.8 percent against the previous month and by 0.7 percent y-o-y.

In the first seven months of 2012 the regions which reported the highest increases for newly issued building permits are North-East (+698 building permits), West (+641), Bucharest-Ilfov (+593) and South-Muntenia (+513).
