Nir Refuah, formerly creative vice-president in McCann Digital Tel Aviv, joins the creative team of McCann Worldgroup Romania, as general manager of its digital arm MRM Romania.
In this new position, he will coordinate over 30 people and will work for clients such as Coca-Cola, KFC, Pizza Hut, MasterCard, Nutline, Doncafe and Kandia.
“His experience in technology startups and digital media is unique in Romania and in the region. Israel is a very developed market from the point of view of digital technologies and any talent inflow will help the Romanian market grow, said Adrian Botan, managing partner McCann Bucharest.
Refuah has worked for over 15 years in advertising, also being founder and CEO of Othello, the first social network in Israel dedicated to journalists and artists.
He used to be editor in chief of the Tapuz portal and head of content development in Walla Communications.
Starting with 2008, he was appointed creative vice-president in McCann Digital Tel Aviv and had a contribution in developing strategies on digital advertising and social media interaction for brands in the agency portfolio.
“For me, the digital is the most interesting environment- no one has fallen asleep while surfing the internet, right? My goal in Romania is to help the digital market and MRM and McCann clients to make the transition from a world of adaptations and online banners to digital brand building and storytelling. From short-term campaigns to long term platforms and communities, and maximize the efficiency of this environment for clients,” said Refuah.
