New specialists confirm presence at How to Web

A new series of specialists from the global tech scene have confirmed their attendance at How to Web, dedicated to innovation and technology, which will take place on November 20 and 21 at Crystal Palace Ballroom in Bucharest.

The newly- confirmed entrepreneurs will talk about tech innovation or developing global products and services. The specialists will approach themes such as developing home products connected to the internet, building sustainable teams that support innovation, current technology trends, as well as the importance of design in developing innovative products.

  •  Robin Wauters, renowned technology journalist, ex-European Editor of The Next Web and TechCrunch, will talk about key trends in technology for the near future and which European companies are ahead of the curve in their fields and best positioned to take advantage of these shifts.
  •  David Bizer, Ex-Talent Geek HackFwd, German accelerator that shut down recently, will share his learnings acquired during the creation, development, and eventual closure of the project.
  • Christopher Martin, Senior Expert Bosch Research and Technology Center, where he studies the way in which the Internet of Things (IoT) can be introduced in household appliances, will present the challenges faced when developing mass products in the field of IoT and how these challenges can be overcome.
  •  Maria Diaconu, founder and CEO of Mozaic Works, who has significant experience as software developer, practitioner and coach for Agile and Lean Methodologies, will discuss about the importance of the team for companies that develop innovative tech products, as well as the ways in which effective teams can be built, developed and maintained.
  •  Vitaly Golomb, Founder and CEO of KeenSystems, and Stefan Szakal, founder and CEO of X3, will approach subjects related to the importance of design in building successful products.
  •  Simon Stewart, Facebook software developer and member in the core team that develops the automated testing instrument Selenium, will describe the methods that Facebook uses for developing the Android version of the app and the measures that they take for improving the quality, the speed, and the stability of the application. He will cover everything Facebook’s Android team does from source control, builds, testing and release.

The second scene is open for the entire public of the conference, being specially designed for those that are currently building their own startups or making steps in this respect. The main beneficiaries of these discussions will be the 32 finalists of Startup Spotlight, competition and orientation program organized in parallel with How to Web. The 32 teams originating from Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Greece, and Poland, will receive free access to dedicated workshops, mentoring sessions, pitching on the two scenes of the conference, and cash prizes of USD 20,000.
