Namur Film Festival honors Romanian movie Child’s Pose

The best film award of the International Film Festival of Namur (Belgium) was given to Child’s Pose, a film directed by Calin Netzer and also the best actress award for Luminita Gheorghiu, who performs in the same film.

In the Child’s Pose, Luminita Gheorghiu plays the role of a domineering mother obsessed with controlling, fully dedicated to stop her son from being jailed for killing a boy in a car accident. The film’s script is written by Calin Netzer and Razvan Radulescu, and also starring are famous Romanian actors like Florin Zamfirescu, Vlad Ivanov and Ilinca Goia.

The Child’s Pose won the Golden Bear at this year edition of the Berlin Film Festival, becoming the first Romanian film winner of such an award.

Likewise, Romania is to submit the film to the Oscar Awards 2014 at the best foreign language film section.
