The Medicover healthcare network expanded by a new multidisciplinary unit in the center of Ploiesti, the company announced. This is the first work point in Romania to have a Petroleum Doctor accreditation, a specialty aimed at persons working on marine platforms in the Northern Sea.
The new clinic is the result of a EUR 400,000 investment, has 25 medical specialties, an accredited center for international vaccines and a department specializing in labor medicine.
The Petroleum Doctor operations are headed by doctor Silvian Cioata, holding a diploma from the Norwegian Centre for Maritime Medicine and attested by the Country Governor of Rogaland in Norway.
The Ploiesti clinic currently employs 27 medical specialists and is expected to expand over the coming period.
Medicover has been active for 20 years on the healthcare market and covers 14 countries in the Central and Eastern Europe through its 100 clinics, 80 labs and 300 testing facilities. In Romania, Medicover has 16 clinics in Bucharest and the country and a general hospital encompassing all departments: outpatient, day care and a range of medical specialties.
