Last year, LeasePlan Romania registered a turnover of EUR 42.4 million, up 0.5 percent over 2014, while its automotive portfolio under management increased by 6 percent to over 11,000, the operational leasing company announced.

For this year, it has plans of expansion both in terms of fleet and in terms of services.

Although some of our customers have reduced their activity and consequently diminished their fleet, demand among small and medium companies brought us strong growth in 2015. For 2016 we expect the turnover to increase by 3 to 5 percent and plant to reach a volume of 12,000 vehicles in administration, relying on a solid relationship with strategic customers, the launch of new products, and the growing interest of companies in the SME segment,” said Bogdan Apahidean, general director of LeasePlan Romania.

The company recently launched LeasePlan Van, a service aimed at companies using light commercial vehicles. It offers its customers continuous mobility, optimization of costs under intensive and high mileage and counselling, by specialized and dedicated staff, in the correct choice of vehicle and auxiliary equipment that meet the business’ specific needs.

For example, when a vehicle is immobilized, LeasePlan offers in exchange a vehicle of the same category and with the same auxiliary equipment. Entrepreneurs pay zero advance, regardless of fleet size, and eliminate risks related to asset recapitalization and change in maintenance costs. In addition, the rate paid by the contractor is correlated with the number of kilometers travelled by car, so they pay in proportion to their use of the car, having permanent access to online reporting platform to track progress on service costs.

LeasePlan Romania is part of Dutch company LeasePlan, specializing in mobility and fleet management. The company employs some 7,200 people, of which 85 percent are active in branches outside Holland. It manages a fleet of 1.5 million vehicles across 32 countries. LeasePlan became active in Romania in 2007 and currently employs 75.
