Lafarge Romania has a new CEO starting September

Costin Borc will be the new CEO of the Romanian subsidiary of cement, concrete and aggregates manufacturer Lafarge, starting this September. He is replacing Sonia Artinian who was promoted at group level earlier this month.

Between 2008 and 2013 Borc served as CEO of Lafarge Serbia. He began his career with the manufacturer in the US and afterwards he managed for 4 years the concrete and aggregates division of Lafarge Romania.  In 2006 he was promoted regional development and strategy director.

Borc has a PhD in economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and he graduated from the Polytechnic University in Bucharest.

Sonia Artinian, the present CEO of Lafarge Romania, has been appointed executive VP organization and HR in the group’s executive committee, taking over for Eric Olsen who has decided to retire, the cement manufacturer previously announced.

Artinian joined the company in 2008 as first vice-president in the organizational development department. In 2012 she was appointed CEO of Lafarge Romania, replacing Philippe Questiaux.  Before joining Lafarge she worked at Capgemini Consulting where she began her career in 1995. Her last position there was associate director.

A French citizen, she graduated from the Ecole nationale de genie rural des eaux et forêts and Ecole Normale Supsrieure de Lyon.
