Ionut Simion to be appointed country managing partner of PwC Romania

Ionut Simion will take over as of July 1st the country managing partner position with PwC Romania, held for 11 years by Vasile Iuga, who will become the South East Europe Cluster leader within the firm.

“(…) I start this new chapter at a time when both the global economy and the professional services sector change at Internet speed. My main objective is related to leadership in the market, for the firm as well as our clients, both in the private and public sectors. We will continue to support them in their development and solving the problems they are faced with, contributing in the same time to consolidate a climate of trust in the Romanian business environment. I am glad to have next to me in this endeavor a team of professionals who have proven their value in numerous important projects,” said Ionut Simion in a press release.

Simion joined PwC Romania in 2000 and was appointed Tax and Legal Services partner in 2007. Starting with 2012, he coordinated the Tax department of PwC in Chisinau, Moldova.

Vasile Iuga joined PwC upon its incorporation in Romania, in 1991. He became partner in 1997 and, starting with 2004, he has been the country managing partner for Romania, coordinating a team of over 650 professionals in five offices.
