The National Association of Internet Service Providers in Romania (ANISP) will submit a complaint against Catalin Marinescu, the president of telecom watchdog ANCOM, in case the Authority does not solve the issue of the tariffs practiced by Netcity Telecom, the concessionaire of the Bucharest fiber optic network.

“Next week we will notify ANCOM that, if within 30 days, the Authority does not put into practice the legal decision regarding the tariffs practiced by Netcity, we will make a complaint against the president of ANCOM, Catalin Marinescu,” announced Mihai Batraneanu, president of ANISP in a press conference.

He also said a legal complaint has been submitted against general mayor Sorin Oprescu, who approved the Netcity project.

According to ANISP, the tariffs practiced by Netcity went up from the initial monhtly tax of EUR 85 per kilometer for renting the network, to a monthly tax of EUR 170- EUR 180 per kilometer.

Netcity currently has an underground fiber optic fiber network of approximately 900 kilometers.
