How to Web MVP Academy: Meet the finalists! Best CEE startups

In between June 2nd  July 22nd the 15 finalists of How to Web MVP Academy will acquire essential business knowledge and will learn how to build successful products at global scale and how to take advantage of the opportunities in the market.

The finalists had until Mya 17 to apply. After a week of judging, meet the startups that made the cut, 15 teams from Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia:

StudyMentors is an online platform which connects international prospective students with current students/alumni from European universities.

During the 7 weeks of the program, they will engage in a complex process comprising access to top-notch educational resources and mentors, dedicated workshops, as well as support from the MVP Academy team that will help them find solutions to their specific problems as well as the resources required to grow faster.

The startups will work together with more than 40 mentors and renowned professionals that will guide their steps and support them in their efforts of building their products and validating them with the market. Among these mentors there are Michael Levit (Founder Spigot and Managing Partner Founders’ Den), Alex Barrera (Founder and Editor Tech.eu şi Chief WOWness Officer Press 42), Dragoş Ilinca and Vladimir Oane (Co-Fondatori UberVu), Maxim Gurvits (Partner Teres Capital) or Vesselina Tasheva (EMEA Community Manager Telerik). By attending How to Web MVP Academy, the startups will learn how to build viable tech products, how to validate them with the market and create traction, how to tell their story, to network, to pitch in front of investors, or to build strong communities around their products.

Among the remarkable activities in the program there are a private pitching session with Jon Bradford (Managing Director TextStars), a storytelling and pitching workshop with Alex Barrera (Founder and Editor Tech.eu and Chief WOWness Officer Press 42), juridical counseling with Ana Maria Andronic (Partner Ana Maria Andronica Law Office), or a product management workshop with Daniela Neumann (Scrum Master/Change Management idealo internet GmbH).

Besides the opportunity to work closely with some of the most appreciated professionals in the industry, the How to Web MVP Academy finalists will have access to the TechHub Bucharest co-working space and the events organized there, thus being permanently connected to a vibrant community. Moreover, the teams will also benefit from the support of specialists in accordance with their specific needs and they will have access to tech infrastructure offered by international companies (cloud hosting, access to different platforms).

The program will end with a Demo Day, event where the How to Web MVP Academy teams will get the chance to pitch their products and showcase their progress in front of the audience. They will thus have the opportunity to develop valuable connections with angel investors, early stage VC funds, as well as acceleration programs in Europe, and to start the discussions for securing follow-up funding that will support their further development and scaling efforts.

“We believe that the key indicator for success in an early stage startup is the team’s ability to learn and iterate quickly, translating the knowledge acquired in building a better product. We have prepared a program that fits the anticipated needs of the teams, but we will work closely with our participants, thus being able to help and constantly improve the startups’ experience throughout the program, as well as evaluate and give constant feedback”, declared Monica Obogeanu (Program Manager How to Web MVP Academy).
