How Romanians spend their spare time

On working days, 80 percent of Romanians prefer to spend their spare time in the house. However, at weekends, 76 percent of Romanians prefer outdoor activities, are the findings of a survey called Romanians’ Spare Time. Preferences, Expectations, Consumption, carried out under the umbrella of SMARK Research.

Romanians have on average 4 hours of spare time on a working day and 9 hours of spare time per day at weekends. They prefer the company of their family both during working days and at weekends.

Their budget for spare time activities is around RON 350, which may be a low value in absolute numbers but this represents 22 percent of the average monthly income.

The survey took into account the population aged between 18 and 45 years old, who have access to internet and live in large cities such as Brasov, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Iasi, Oradea, Ploiesti and Timisoara.
